Job Title: Plant Manager-China
Reports to: General Manager
Location: BaoAn, Shenzhen, China
POSITON SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Plant Manager is responsible for the efficient and profitable plant operations of China within established Policies and practices. The focus of The position is to manage the plant through world-class Lean Enterprise Principles to meet to of exceed the key objectives of volume, cost, quality, inventory, lead time and scrap.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Directly manages all supervision staff of China including coordinating the selection and hiring of new employees, developing, coaching and mentoring the operations team to deliver at high effectiveness levels, providing on-the-job training and functional guidance, appraising work performance, initiating promotions and transfers.
2. Evaluate and deploys manpower, equipment and other resources to hit manufacturing targets.
3. Determines the need for, and maintains an effective and economical plan to obtain maximum results from available resources .This includes properly defining and assigning functional responsibilities for each job, staffing each job with the minimum number of qualified personnel for plant and office.
4. periodically reviews the status of operating plans and expenditures against established budgets and time schedules. Makes necessary revisions, as required, to improve operating conditions and costs. Recommends changes in established production and inventory requirements and equipment to effect cost reductions and improve the profit picture.
5. Initiates, directs, facilitates and reports the development and implementation of continuous improvement projects, using accepted Lean Enterprise methods and practices. Contributes to the development and sustaining of 5 s+1 activities.
6. Develops and approves the master schedule and shipping schedule and coordinates production activities between shifts and functions to optimize resources.
7. Assures adherence to quality assurance to quality assurance policies and procedures and meets of exceeds customer specifications and requirements.
8. Develops and executes operational strategy, plan actions to maintain and improve Employee Health and Safety and maintain excellent environmental practices.
9. Determines equipment, tooling and production supply needs, specifies and obtains equipment, tooling and supplies .Responsible for proper operation and maintenance of equipment, facilities and utilities.
10. Ensures timely and proper completion of capital investment, process improvement projects and cost reduction projects.
11. Delegates to subordinates those duties necessary and consistent with sound operation procedures.
12. Maintains open communications with Accounting to ensure proper accounting and budgeting.
13. Obtains advice and assistance from the Human Resources on matters dealing with employee relations policies, wage and salary, insurance and other programs and their applications; and in handling of employee grievance problems.
14. Performs other duties as required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent.
2. Ten to fifteen years in manufacturing environment with solid experience in Lean Enterprise principles prior production process experience, including cost analysis.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Normal office conditions, must be able to navigate manufacturing floor and travel as necessary
