The National Security Division of the Hong Kong Police Force arrested five company directors on suspicion of violating Hong Kong's national security law on Tuesday morning, and five people are being detained. Hong Kong police said the five arrested included Cheung Jianhong, chief executive of Next Media Group; Chow Tat Kuen, chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Next Media Group; Law Wai-kwong, chief editor of Apple Daily; Chen Peimin, deputy chief executive of Apple Media; and Zhang Zhiwei, director of Apple Mobile's news platform.
Police said the arrested man was suspected of violating Article 29 of Hong Kong's national security law, "the crime of colluding with a foreign or foreign power to endanger national security". Police have also conducted searches at the homes of those arrested. (Yang Jia, Overseas Online)
